Guide to Door's and Window's
"Window - Panel's"

One of the more interesting challenges facing the home remodeler is upgrading the exterior of a simply designed and constructed house. The pre-fabricated options that are available today are many and varied, providing a number of design choices and paths which to follow. One of the principal methods of upgrading a home’s appearance on the exterior is adding window treatments. Shutters are available today that are manufactured from vinyl and have all the resiliency and resistance to decay that vinyl siding is known for. Dressing your front and side windows with shutters is going to add charm to the house and value as well.
Another option for accentuating windows on the exterior is the use of window panels. They are simple, decorative and are also made from lightweight synthetic material that is highly resistant to the impact of rough weather. Window panels are generally raised a little over an inch, so they provide a defined raised surface much like a wall panel that you might see in an older, affluent home that has walls and ceilings with architectural trim.

• Window panels are simple rectangles with another rectangle defined by channels molded a few inches inside the panel’s edges.

• A window panel is a simple rectangle within a rectangle, unobtrusively raised to provide definition above or below your window just as shutters might provide definition along the sides.

• A home with three plain aluminum windows along the front looks boring at best and can quickly look shabby if the house paint begins to fade. A home with window panels is going to have a more interesting façade that can be complemented with other exterior additions such as a pediment over the front door.

• Urethane window panels are lightweight and ready for painting. They will not peel or crack. Nor will they fade at anywhere near the rate that standard exterior house paint does.

• Window panels are available to match the width of virtually any standard window, and there are also versions with two side by side interior rectangles that are designed for small double windows

• The choices for home exterior upgrading are remarkable; what is even more remarkable is the fact that the use of synthetic raw material and pre-design work makes installation a possibility for most do-it-yourself remodelers.
