Guide to Door's and Window's
"Window's - Bahama & Bermuda Shutters"

Are you considering buying new window coverings? Are you trying to decide between shutters and curtains? Why should you choose wood shutters over curtains?

Wood shutters are easier to dust and to keep clean than curtains. A duster will generally do the job for shutters. Occasionally, you will have to wipe down your wood shutters with a wet rag. Taking care of curtains is much more difficult. In order to get your curtains completely clean, you have to take them down and drive them to the cleaners. You will have to live without any privacy or hang a sheet over your window until you can get your curtains back. Then there are the cleaning costs…

Wood shutters allow you to control the amount of light, air, and privacy that you have in your rooms. If you have curtains, you will loose privacy if you open them up even just a little to let light and air into your rooms. However, shutters can be adjusted so that you can still get some fresh air and outside light while maintaining your privacy.

Wood shutters can be painted any color that you like whenever you like. As an added bonus, you can paint the side of your shutters that faces outside a different color than the side that faces the inside of your home. This way, your wood shutters will complement both the interior and exterior of your home. If you want to change the color of your curtains, you have to buy a completely new set.

Wood shutters are easy to maintain, allow you a great deal of privacy, and can be color-coordinated in any room with the swipe of a paint brush. Wood shutters have it “hands down” over curtains.
